WIAW – Snacker’s Edition

Happy hump day! I want to get in on the WIAW action, but since I am boring and eat a lot of the same foods (ahem- steel cut oats and caprese salad) I decided to make this post about all the awesome snacks that I’ve been nomming on recently. Thanks to Jenn for hosting!

WIAW GOES GREEN

First up we have the Dale’s Raw Protein Bar in Raspberry Hazelnut flavor! I ate this yesterday afternoon at work as my pick-me-up snack.

It may not be the prettiest bar ever, I think we all know what it looks like…but check out that ingredient list! Sold.

Like my makeshift “post-it” napkin?

Next up we had what I like to call my train-ride-home snack. I am on the train for about an hour and what better way to fill that trip up than to munch? Am I right? Let’s face it, I’m right. So I enjoyed a Honey Stinger Honey Waffle (review coming soon!). It’s not a breakfast waffle, it’s more like a cookie. All organic too. Delicious.

I usually take a pre-workout shake or supplement before hitting up the gym, but I completely forgot to pack one today. Luckily, I had a pack of the Honey Stinger Energy chews in my work bag in Pink Lemonade flavor. I tossed back 5 of those and then went for my easy run of the week. Sidenote: who am I kidding? No run is easy for me…oh well this was my “easy” one.

As an after dinner snack I made a smoothie. I’ll be honest, there was nothingĀ smooth about it…it was very chunky and I ate it with a spoon. Still delicious!

How’s that for green month?!

Leslee’s Funky Chunky Somewhat Smooth Smoothie:

1 Cup ice

1 Handful spinach

16 oz. of strawberry yogurt

1 Scoop vanilla protein powder

1 Cup frozen fruit (I used a mix of peaches, pineapple, mango, and strawberries)

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1 Tbsp ground flax seeds

Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend away!
