New Year’s Eve is Upon Us and I’m Making Some Goals!

We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them ourselves.  The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”  – Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Whelp the day has finally come, 2012 is almost through and 2013 is knocking eagerly at the door.  I’ve been thinking about how I want to spend the new year, and here are some of the goals that I have come up with:

1.) Focus more on running outside, and less on running on the treadmill.

2.) Make sure I get a full weight training program in before I do cardio at the gym. I have a tendency to hit the treadmill up as soon as I get to the gym and then wear myself out and can only do a little lifting after.

3.) Start packing more creative lunches for work. My coworkers know my lunch down pat – it’s usually a Greek yogurt, an apple, and a turkey sandwich. I need to spice it up.

I brought the caesar salad on the right one day, and spiced it up with some asparagus, flax seeds, yams, tomatoes and mushrooms

I actually varied from my norm recently and brought the caesar salad on the right one day, and spiced it up with some asparagus, flax seeds, yams, tomatoes and mushrooms

4.) Remember to eat breakfast every morning and try to eat more small meals instead of 2 or 3 big meals.

5.) Take some time every day and disconnect myself from technology. I’m on my computer at work all day and generally have my phone attached to my hip. I want to at least try to use both less…

6.) Now that I am part of a CSA, I want to learn new, creative ways to cook with fruits, veggies, and herbs that I haven’t ever tasted before!

7.) Be a good blogger! I’m still very new at this and really enjoy it. I want to stay consistent with creating posts.

Happy New Year, readers! Let’s make this year the best one yet!
